Comments from Gilbert Residents

Clate Mask, CEO InfusionSoft

Gilbert has provided a wonderful business location for our software development company to thrive and grow. We have the highest regard for Mayor Lewis and his efforts to create an Open to Business environment to aid the success of all Gilbert businesses. As a dedicated, inspiring leader, John Lewis is EXACTLY what Gilbert needs in a Mayor.

Howard Morrison, Steve Sossaman, June Neely Morrison, Jim Hayden

As we celebrate Arizonas Centennial and reflect on the last 100 years, we see common threads with our Gilbert citizens. In 1912 and 2012, residents focused on helping each other and growing a community. Our immediate families extended to include our neighbors, our friends, and others in the area. The Gilbert Family grew through loyalty to each other and a commitment to building a community that would be called home by our generations to come.

In the 2012 election for Mayor, we need a Mayor (leader) whose efforts will be on meeting our Gilbert Family needs now and for the future. We have appreciated Mayor John Lewis dedication to Gilbert during the last three years. His great strength is his service leadership style that is entirely focused on growing the community and not himself. We are impressed! Our Gilbert Family needs John.

Kent Cooper, Past Gilbert Town Manager

As Gilbert's former Town Manager from 1983 to 2001 I had the opportunity to work with 36 town council members and six mayors. I sincerely appreciate the service of all of these dedicated elected officials. I wholeheartedly endorse John Lewis for Mayor. He has exactly the kind of ethics, values and business credentials needed for Gilbert now and for the next four years. He is truly a consensus builder with years of service in Gilbert. He serves with integrity and is one of Gilberts finest ambassadors.

Jason Barney, Gilbert Businessman/Community Leader

During the last three years, Mayor Lewis has truly elevated Gilbert in the valley as a "player" with economic development. His activity with the Arizona Commerce Authority and Greater Phoenix Economic Council has introduced key business leaders in the valley to Gilbert. He has also done an excellent job in engaging Gilbert business leaders to become Ambassadors for our community. His emphasis on creating an "Open To Business" culture is inspiring and his willingness to listen to business leaders to make changes for the better is making Gilbert the "friendliest place in Arizona to do business." His incredibly professional style, sincere concern for people, and depth of substance has made him one of the most respected leaders in the valley.

Gilbert Chamber of Commerce
Mayor John Lewis has continued to champion business and has been instrumental in streamlining business processes at the Town level. His commitment to press forward on pro-business issues is critical for the community's long-term sustainability. His support of Chamber initiated programs and services allow for continued collaboration to assist businesses to grow and expand in Gilbert.

Small Business Alliance

Mayor John Lewis is the ultimate ambassador of the Town of Gilbert. He is a thoughtful man who respects every person's position and always leads through collaborative efforts. The Alliance is looking forward to working with Mayor Lewis for another four years!

Howard Morrison, Gilbert Businessman
I have been impressed with Mayor's Lewis forward thinking. While I cherish my past memories of a small town Gilbert, it is an exciting time for Gilbert to be looking ahead to what we will be in 30 years at possible build-out time. Mayor Lewis is focused on providing the right balance of land use for families to live and businesses to provide jobs. He has a professional, collaborative approach with the right skill set to lead Gilbert as your Mayor.

Amy Johnston, Gilbert Mom

I enthusiastically support John Lewis for mayor. We've lived in Gilbert for nearly twenty years, and it's an honor to support someone so dedicated to keeping family, freedom, and faith as priorities in our town. I appreciate the dignity he brings to the office and the way he works hard to make people of all faiths and all backgrounds feel welcome and needed in our community. He is an efficient and effective leader. We are fortunate to have someone of his caliber willing to seek a second term as our mayor.

Kent Stevens, Former Gilbert Vice-Mayor and Councilmember

Based on my past experience serving on the Town Council, and seeing how Mayor Lewis led our Town through the economic crisis of the last three years without raising taxes or lowering services, I strongly support John Lewis for Mayor. John possesses a unique combination of financial training and experience and people skills that qualify him as a gifted leader to guide us in the next four years.

Ed Lamoreaux, Gilbert Businessman

John Lewis is pro-business, pro-family, and pro-Gilbert. His philosophy to keep taxes low and freedom high is why I support him for Mayor.

Robert H. McCabe, Former Gilbert Town Councilman

As a former Gilbert Town Council member it is evident to me, the tremendous impact that the Mayor has on the Town. I have been associated with John for over 27 years.  During this time I have found John to be an honest, hard working individual with wisdom and values. He has returned credibility, civility, and professionalism back to the Office of Mayor.

Gary Christenson, Gilbert Resident

As a former major league baseball player, in recruiting future baseball talent, I look for players who can run, throw, field, hit, and hit with power. For a Gilbert Mayor, we need related skills. We need a Mayor who is a team player, who understands the needs of Gilbert families, who is intelligent with a strong business background, and a man of great integrity. Mayor Lewis possesses all those skills and more. He is an all-star on and off the field. He has represented us well!

Dr. George T. & Janet Keene, Gilbert Residents, Local Scout Leaders

John Lewis is a scouter who loves to serve young people and help them see and reach their potential. John embodies and lives his life by being a living example of the Boy Scout oath, law and motto. In a leadership role he organized the adult leaders in his area to attend Boy Scout's highest level of leadership training--Wood Badge. Over 100 adults in his stewardship attended Wood Badge. John practices the leadership traits that are part of Wood Badge. He creates vision with the input of others, he communicates, and he builds trust.  He is an outstanding Mayor!

Fred & Margo Treece, Gilbert Residents & Business Owners

John embodies a man with a "vision," a vision of Gilbert's future and the welfare of its citizens. John has "purpose," to lead Gilbert into the future in a safe, but forward-thinking manner. John has "passion," the juice of vision, to help Gilbert reach its potential as a sustainable "bedroom and business community." John embodies the qualities of a "statesman."  He is a remarkable leader, a man who influences others for good, a man who believes and has time for the "one" as well as getting results for the good of all.

Darrel LeSueur, Neighbor of John Lewis
John Lewis has been our neighbor and friend for the past 19 years. John is an unbelievable individual. He is honest and hardworking.  He has an amazing talent of accomplishing more than is humanly possible and bringing people together. He will never compromise his integrity.

Adrienne C. Mitra, Gilbert Resident/Reported to Mayor Lewis in a former work environment

John was always impressive in the work environment. His strong work ethic was inspiring for co-workers. His leadership style was to lift others to their potential. He cared more about the success of others than himself. It was easy to follow a leader with vision who led by example.

Norma Barrett, Gilbert Resident (loving living in Trilogy)

I have known John Lewis for over 20 years, having worked with him in the corporate world. John is a man who can be trusted and is totally committed to the success of our Town. John understands the importance of good schools and that our children are our future. He has done much to bring business to Gilbert in so many areas, most notably technology and healthcare. And of course, he has helped make our community a great place for those of all ages. I was excited to learn that Gilbert just received a national recognition for being one of the Top Ten places for those who are retired.
